In Chapter 6 of his book \textit{Real time} (Cambridge Univ. Press, 1981), \textit{D. H. Mellor} uses McTaggart's famous argument against the reality of time in an attempt to show that there is no ontological difference between the present and other times. The author points out that there is an exactly analogous argument that can be used in an attempt to show that there is no ontological difference between the actual and the merely possible (the modal realism of D. Lewis), and argues that these two arguments stand or fall together.
