Let \(H \subset {\mathbb N}\) be finite. A pair \((P,{\mathcal L})\) of points \(P \) and lines \(\mathcal L\) is called an \(H\)-semiaffine linear space, where \({\mathcal L} \subseteq 2^P\), if any two distinct points belong to exactly one line, any line has at least two points, there are three non-collinear points, and for any anti-flag \((p,L)\) the number \(\pi (p,L)\) of lines through \(p\) missing \(L\) belongs to \(H\). A linear space \((P,{\mathcal L})\) is referred to as \(H\)-affine if it is \(H\)-semiaffine, but not \(J\)-semiaffine for each proper subset \(J\) of \(H\). In this context, projective planes are \(\{0\}\)-affine linear spaces, and affine planes \(\{1\}\)-affine linear spaces. Pointed projective planes are examples of \(\{0,1\}\)-affine linear spaces. \textit{A. Beutelspacher} and \textit{A. Kersten} [Arch. Math. 44, 557--568 (1985; Zbl 0574.51009)] investigated finite \(\{0,s,t\}\)-semiaffine linear spaces in the case of \(t\neq 2s\). For \(t=2s\) the cases \(s=1\) and \(2=s\) have been studied by \textit{W. Hauptmann} [Geom. Dedicata 9, 77--86 (1980; Zbl 0435.51006)], \textit{P. M. Lo Re} and \textit{D. Olanda} [in Combinatorics '88. Vol. 2: Proceedings of the international conference on incidence geometries and combinatorial structures, Ravello, Italy, May 23--28, 1988. Rende: Mediterranean Press, Research and Lecture Notes in Mathematics. 195--210 (1991; Zbl 0945.51538)]. In the paper under review the author addresses the case \(t=2s\) and \(s\geq2\). He determines the point degrees and line sizes, and derives first characterization results.
