This paper is a part of the authors' research project on the degenerate principal series of a split, simply connected, simple \(p\)-adic group of type \(E_n\). The groups of type \(E_6\) were treated in [\textit{H. Halawi} and \textit{A. Segal}, Isr. J. Math. 238, No. 2, 537--569 (2020; Zbl 1481.22016)], while the paper under review studies the groups of type \(E_7\). Denote such a group by \(G\). Let \(P\) be a standard proper maximal parabolic subgroup with a Levi subgroup \(M\), and let \(\sigma\) be a character of \(M\). The main question answered in the paper is the reducbility of the normalized parabolic induction \(\pi=i_M^G(\sigma)\). The approach is based on the Jacquet modules techniques, similarly as for other types of groups. The problem with the groups of type \(E_n\) comes from the size and complex structure of their Weyl groups. The authors were able to overcome this difficulty using an algorithm, which they implemented in \texttt{Sagemath}.
