The authors deal with binary mixtures systems coupled with heat equations. The consider a portion \((0,\ell)\subset \mathbb{R}\) occupied by two interacting continua with particles occupied the same position at the time \(t\). If \(u=u(x,t),\ w=w(x,t)\) describe the particles position and \(\theta \) denotes the temperature deviation, then the following initial-boundary value problem expresses the behaviour of the system: \begin{align*} &\rho_1 u_{tt}-(a_{11}u+a_{12}w)_{xx}+\alpha(u-w)-\beta_1\theta_x=0,\\ &\rho_2 w_{tt}-(a_{12}u+a_{22}w)_{xx}-\alpha(u-w)-\beta_2\theta_x=0,\\ &\rho_3\theta_t-\sigma T_0^{-1}\theta_{xx}-(1-\sigma)\int_0^\infty k(s)\theta_{xx}(t-s)\text{d}s-(\beta_1u_{xt}+\beta_2w_{xt})=0,\\ &u(0,t)=u(\ell,t)=w(0,t)=w(\ell,t)=\theta_x(0,t)=\theta_x(\ell,t)=0,\ t\in (0,\infty),\\ &(u,u_t,w,w_t,\theta)|_{t=0}=(u_0,u_1,w_0,w_1,\theta_0),\ \theta(-s)|_{s>0}=\tilde\theta_0(s)\ \text{on}\ (0,\ell). \end{align*} After introducing a new variable \(\eta\equiv \eta^t(x,s)=\int_0^s \theta(x,\tau)\text{d}\tau\) the original system is transformed to an autonomous problem a is solved by a semigroup method. The main results are a well-posedness and the stabilization of the solution to zero with exponential or rational rates.
