The main theorem of this paper is a generalization of the Wiener-Ikehara theorem which is valid for real-valued functions \(f\) satisfying \(\int^{\infty}_{-\infty} |f(x)|/(1+x^{2}) dx\). The boundary conditions on the Laplace transform \(F(s) = \int^{\infty}_{0} e^{-sx} f(x) dx\) are of \(L^{1}_{\mathrm{loc}}\)-type but are only imposed on the real part of \(F\). The author also provides an analogous version for power series and two applications. He gives a proof of Blackwell's renewal theorem from probability theory and a related theorem for Dirichlet series.
