The authors, in this interesting paper, consider in spatial dimensions \(2\) the abstract form of the stochastic constrained Navier-Stokes equations on the torus, i.e., the periodic boundary case, with a multiplicative Stratonovich noise. They extend in the stochastic setting the recent deterministic result of [the authors with \textit{M. Mariani}, ibid. 264, No. 4, 2833--2864 (2018; Zbl 1379.35209)]. In particular, they prove the existence of martingale solutions, pathwise uniqueness, and derive then the existence of global in time strong solutions. A main difference in the strategy applied when proving local existence in the presence of noise in comparison to the deterministic equation, is the use of the Faedo-Galerkin approximation in place of the Banach's fixed-point theorem (which seems to fail when the stochastic problem is analyzed).
