It is well known that there exists a big interplay between the theory of integrable systems and the enumerative geometry, through the mirror symmetry. In this relationship an important result is that the topological recursion can be used to quantize the Weierstrass curve \(y^2=x^3+\alpha x+\beta \) for generic values of \(\alpha \) and \(\beta \). The paper under review generalizes this significant result to the quantization of any hyper-elliptic curve, paving the way to a possible generalization to any algebraic curve. As application, the authors provide 2-parameter solutions to the 6 Painlevé equations as well as the corresponding tau functions.
