    A classical inequality due to Bohnenblust and Hille states that, for each \(m \geq 2\), there is a constant \(D_{m} \geq 1\) such that, for every polynomial of degree \(m\) of \(n\) variables \(\sum_{\vert \alpha \vert = m} a_{\alpha} z^{\alpha}\) the following holds \[ \Big(\sum_{\vert \alpha \vert = m} \vert a_{\alpha} \vert^{\frac{2m}{m+1}} \Big)^{\frac{m+1}{2m}} \leq D_{m} \sup_{z \in \mathbb{D}^{n}} \Big\vert \sum_{\vert \alpha \vert = m} a_{\alpha} z^{\alpha} \Big\vert \,, \] and the exponent is optimal. The correct asymptotic growth (with the degree \(m\)) of the constants \((D_{m})_{m}\) remains an open problem, with several contributions in the last 15~years. This paper contributes to this aspect, giving an upper bound. If \(B_{k}\) denotes the optimal constant for the Bohnenblust-Hille inequality for \(k\)-linear forms, the main result of the paper shows that \[ D_{m} \leq \min_{1 \leq k \leq m} \Big( 1 + \frac{1}{k} \Big)^{\frac{m-k}{2}} \times \frac{m^{m}}{(m-k)^{m-k}} \times \sqrt{\frac{(m-k)!}{m!}} \times \frac{(k+1)^{\frac{k+1}{2}}}{2^{k} k^{\frac{k}{2}}} \times B_{k} \,. \]
