The paper investigates topological measures, that is, measures that are defined on open and closed sets of a locally compact space and which are finitely additive on the collection of open and compact sets, inner regular on open sets and outer regular on closed sets. In this context, semisolid sets and solid-set functions are studied and several examples of finite and infinite topological measures are also provided.
