It is known that the Hamiltonian system of homogeneous Yang-Mills-Higgs fields with three degrees of freedom has the Hamiltonian \(H=\frac{1}{2}(\dot{x}^2+\dot{y}^2+\dot{z}^2+x^2y^2+x^2z^2+y^2z^2)+ \frac{\nu }{2}(x^2+y^2+z^2)\), and corresponding system \begin{align*} \ddot{x}+x(\nu +y^2+z^2)&=0,\\ \ddot{y}+y(\nu +x^2+z^2)&=0,\\ \ddot{z}+z(\nu +x^2+y^2)&=0. \end{align*} For \(\nu = 0\) the system is called Yang-Mills system with three degrees of freedom. The author investigates the transition to chaos for such a class of systems. It is assumed the case of Yang-Mills-Higgs system with total energy \(H = 1\). Here the author considers the dynamics of solutions in the case when the parameter \(\nu\) decreases. It is shown that in this system, the key role at the initial stage of the transition from regular to chaotic motion is played by the nonlocal multiplication of hyperbolic and elliptic cycles and tori around elliptic cycles in the vicinity of separatrix surfaces of hyperbolic cycles. By a numerical method it is shown that new elliptic and hyperbolic cycles of the Hamiltonian system arise as a result of not only saddle-node bifurcations and pitchfork bifurcations but also of a subharmonic cascade of bifurcations. This is a typical phenomenon connected with the universal bifurcation scenario of transition to chaos in accordance with so called Feigenbaum-Sharkovskii-Magnitskii (FSM) theory. This theory is valid for both dissipative and conservative systems of differential equations.
