Let \[ E_{k}(z):=1-\frac{2k}{B_{k}}\sum_{n=1}^{\infty }\sigma _{k-1}(n)e^{2\pi inz} \] be the normalized Eisenstein series of weight \(k\) on SL\(_{2}(\mathbb{Z})\) and let \[ \varphi _{k}(X):=\prod\limits_{E_{k}(z)=0}(X-j(z)) \] be the polynomial that encodes the \(j\)-invariants of nonelliptic zeros of \( E_{k}\) such that \(j(z)\neq 0,1728\). \textit{E.-U. Gekeler} [Arch. Math. 77, No. 1, 5--21 (2001; Zbl 0994.11019)] proved that the polynomials \(\varphi _{k}\) seem to be irreducible (and verified this claim for \(k\leq 446)\), but in this work the author proves that \(\varphi _{k}\) is irreducible for infinitely many \(k\).
