The authors consider a bounded open Lipschitz domain \(\Omega\) in \({\mathbb{R}}^n\) that is divided into two parts by a transversal \((n-1)\)-dimensional Lipschitz manifold \(\Sigma\) that plays the role of an interface and consider a Dirichlet problem in \(\Omega\) with transmission conditions on the interface \(\Sigma\) for the anisotropic Stokes system and prove a well-posedness result in \(L^2\)-based Sobolev spaces. Next the authors prove an existence theorem for a Dirichlet and a Dirichlet-transmission problem in \(\Omega\) for the anisotropic Navier-Stokes system by exploiting a Leray-Schauder Fixed Point Theorem. A uniqueness result is also proved for small data. The reviewer points out that for the analysis of the linear problems the authors consider an ellipticity condition by taking only symmetric matrices with zero trace (as done by the same authors in previous papers).
