Locally convex spaces with the strong Gelfand-Phillips property (Q2679738)

This article introduces and studies the strong Gelfand-Phillips property for locally convex spaces. The Gelfand-Phillips property was investigated for Banach spaces in the 1980's by Drewnowski and Schlumprecht among others. The authors present several characterizations, in particular for locally convex spaces which admit a stronger Banach space topology. They investigate hereditary properties and they study this property in the context of spaces of continuous and bounded continuous functions endowed with different locally convex topologies. Examples are given in the final section.
