As it is well known, there is a current effort of researchers to extend and improve the classical Banach fixed point theorem by extending both the contraction mappings and the spaces where they are defined. The aim of the present paper is to generalize some of these results. More precisely, the working framework is partial metric spaces. The obtained results fall into two directions. First, in Section 2, they are proved two theorems that establish sufficient conditions for a certain function defined on a 0-complete partial metric space to have a minimum. Then, using these results, two fixed point theorems are proved in Section 3 for set-valued and single-valued mappings, respectively. The given results are illustrated with some relevant examples. A well written interesting paper.
