    It is proved that a best proximity point result for \(p\)-proximal contractions, i.e., Theorem 4 in \textit{I. Altun} et al. [Acta Math. Hung. 162, No. 2, 393--402 (2020; Zbl 1474.54107)] is a consequence of Theorem 2.9 in \textit{I. Altun}, \textit{G. Durmaz} and \textit{M. Olgun} [J. Nonlinear Funct. Anal. 2018, 1--7 (2018)].
