The authors study the newer statistic \textit{minimal excludant} for integers partitions, which was introduced by \textit{G. E. Andrews} and \textit{D. Newman} [Ann. Comb. 23, No. 2, 249--254 (2019; Zbl 1458.11011)]. They find another new and simple refinement of Euler's partition identity, which preserves the equidistribution of the statistics between odd partitions and distinct partitions discussed by \textit{C. Bessenrodt} [Discrete Math. 132, No. 1--3, 1--10 (1994; Zbl 0811.05003)] and \textit{J. W. L. Glaisher} [Mess. Math. (2) XII. 158--170 (1882; JFM 15.0134.01)] respectively. Please note that in 1748, Euler established a partition identity which suggests that ``the number of odd partitions of \(n\) is equal to the number of distinct partitions of \(n\)''. The authors also give a bivariate form of Ramanujan's special theta function \(\varphi(q)\). All the results presented in the article are explained properly with supporting arguments.
