The twisted torus link \(T(p,q;r,s)\) is obtained by performing \(s\) full twists on \(r\) parallel strands of the \((p,q)\)-torus link; in particular twisted torus knots are considered in various papers and have many interesting properties (they are among the knots built with the least amount of tetrahedra [\textit{P. J. Callahan} et al., J. Knot Theory Ramifications 8, No. 3, 279--297 (1999; Zbl 0933.57010)]; see the introduction of the present paper for a short survey). By Thurston, every knot in the 3-sphere is either a torus knot, a satellite knot, or a hyperbolic knot. Considering the case of links, the main result of the present paper is a characterization of all twisted torus links \(T(p,q;r,s)\) which are hyperbolic, for \(|s| > 3\).
