The paper is devoted to study of the image of \(\sigma\)-derivations on Banach algebras. The authors prove that if \(\mathscr{A}\) is a commutative Banach algebra and \(d:\mathscr{A}\longrightarrow \mathscr{A}\) is a continuous \(\sigma\)-derivation, where \(\sigma\) is a continuous homomorphism, \(d\sigma=\sigma d=d\) and \(\sigma^2=\sigma\), then \(d(\mathscr{A})\subseteq rad(\mathscr{A})\), where \(rad(\mathscr{A})\) denotes the Jacobson radical of \(\mathscr{A}\). They also obtain Sinclair theorem for \(\sigma\)-derivations without assuming continuity. Namely, under certain conditions, they prove that if \(d\) is a \(\sigma\)-derivation on a Banach algebra \(\mathscr{A}\), then \(d(\mathscr{P})\subseteq \mathscr{P}\) for every primitive ideal \(\mathscr{P}\) of \(\mathscr{A}\).
