The authors consider a problem of Erdős and Graham, namely products of blocks of consecutive integers yielding perfect squares. In several cases, they prove that the actual equation under consideration has infinitely many solutions in the polynomial ring \({\mathbb Z}[t]\). Products of blocks of consecutive terms of arithmetic progressions are also considered, where the authors provide theoretical and numerical results, too. In the proofs several methods and ideas are combined; among others Runge's method and the theory of Pell equations.
