\(H_\infty\) filtering of 2-D discrete systems (English)

The \(H_\infty\) filtering problem for 2-D discrete linear systems described by the second Fornasini-Marchesini model is solved. Both the finite horizon and infinite horizon \(H_\infty\) filtering problems are considered. For the finite horizon 2-D filtering problem a Riccati equation approach is proposed, and for the infinite horizon case both the Riccati inequality and LMI approaches are developed. The paper extends the results known for 1-D systems to the 2-D case.
