Tomography of singular varieties and Lefschetz theorems (Q2766413)

The author investigates a complex quasiprojective variety \(Z\) of dimension \(m\). In the case when \(Z\) is smooth and closed, the well-known theorem of Lefschetz estimates the connectivity of an intersection of \(Z\) with a projective hyperplane \(L\). Theorems 2.2 and 2.5 of the paper provide interesting generalizations of the Lefschetz theorem under suitable genericity conditions.
