For a ring \(R\), let \(P(R)\), \(L(R) \), \(N^*(R)\) and \(N(R)\) denote the prime radical of \(R\), the Levitzki radical of \(R\) (that is, the sum of all locally nilpotent ideals of \(R\)), the upper nil radical of \(R\) (that is, the sum of all nil ideals of \(R\)), and the set of all nilpotent elements of \(R\), respectively. A ring \(R\) is called reduced if it has no nonzero nilpotent elements. A ring \(R\) is called 2-primal if \(P(R)=N(R)\) and a ring \(R\) is called NI if \(N^*(R)=N(R)\).NEWLINENEWLINE In this paper the authors introduce a new class of so called LN rings, that is, rings \(R\) such that \(L(R)=N(R)\). They describe some properties of LN rings and show how they are related to reduced, 2-primal as well as NI-rings. The authors give a characterization of LS-prime ideals and investigate the correspondence between the set of minimal LS-prime ideals of \(R\) and the set of maximal submonoids of \(R\) for an LN ring \(R\). Moreover, they study some extensions of LN rings such as matrix rings, monoid rings and Ore extensions. Also, the authors discuss various notions of spectrum attached to a non-commutative ring from a topological point of view, giving applications to LN rings to investigate topological properties of the LS-prime spectrum.
