In this paper, the authors establish a result analogous to that of \textit{J. Tamura} [Number theory and combinatorics, Proc. Conf., Tokyo/Jap., Okayama/Jap. and Kyoto/Jap. 1984, 369--381 (1985; Zbl 0608.10013)] in the field of Laurent series equipped with the degree valuation, \(\mathbb{F}((1/t))\), over a field \(\mathbb{F}\) of characteristic \(\neq 2\). They give two proofs for the convergent identity, one based on \textit{P. Liardet} and \textit{P. Stambul} [J. Théor. Nombres Bordx. 12, No. 1, 37--68 (2000; Zbl 1007.11045)], and the other on the functional equation approach of \textit{W. Sierpiński} [Elementary theory of numbers. Amsterdam et al.: North-Holland (1988; Zbl 0638.10001)] and of Tamura. In addition, they determine all possible linear integer-valued polynomials which can be used as generating polynomials of the main result. Finally, they mention analogous results for the case of real numbers.
