On the link invariants from the Yokonuma-Hecke algebras (English)

In the paper under review the authors study properties of the Markov trace and the corresponding specialized trace on Yokonuma-Hecke algebras. This study leads to invariants for framed, classical and singular links via the specialized trace and also invariants of transverse links via the Markov trace. Using computer programs, these invariants are compared to the HOMFLYPT polynomial. It is shown that, for knots, the new invariants are equivalent to the HOMFLYPT polynomial, however, for links, they are different.
