Uniqueness and nondegeneracy of positive radial solutions of \(\operatorname{div}(\rho\nabla u)+\rho (-gu+hu^p)=0\) (Q283561)

In a previous paper, the authors obtained a generalized Pohozaev function and proved an uniqueness result in \(\mathbb R^n\), \(n>2\), for the considered problem. In this paper, a new hypothesis is used to prove the uniqueness of the positive radial solutions for \(n=2\). An existence result (not obtained before) is given, by using the same generalized Pohozaev function and the variational method. The continuity at the origin is also studied. Next, uniqueness and nondegeneracy results are given for a more general problem. The results are obtained by using some a priori estimates and compactness properties.
