A regular semigroup \(S\) is said to be \(\mathcal R\)-unipotent if its set of idempotents \(E(S)\) is a left regular band. Let \(L^1\) be the two-element left zero semigroup with adjoined identity, \(\Pi L^1\) a direct power. Let \(X\) be a nonempty set, \(T(X)\) the full transformation semigroup on \(X\), \(\alpha\in T(X)\), \(C(\alpha)=\bigcup\{t\alpha^{-1}:|t\alpha^{-1}|\geqslant 2\}\). For \(Y\subseteq X\), \(Y\neq\emptyset\), the Umar semigroup \(F_Y(X)\subseteq T(X)\) is the set of all \(\alpha\in T(X)\) such that \(C(\alpha)\alpha\subseteq Y=Y\alpha\) and \(\alpha|_Y\) is 1-1; it is known, that an Umar semigroup is \(\mathcal R\)-unipotent. Here are investigated \(\mathcal R\)-unipotent semigroups with \(\Pi L^1\)-embeddable band of idempotents, e.g. it is proved that if \(S\) is an \(\mathcal R\)-unipotent monoid and \(E(S)\) is \(\Pi L^1\)-embeddable then \(S\) is embeddable into a Umar semigroup.
