The author studies a class of unitary operations generated by semiclassical fields. One of the goals of the paper is (from the text) ``to show that even the well known and modest case of classical-quantum duality, for particles in time-dependent quadratic potentials, still has some unexplored consequences''. Classification analogues in macroscopic settings are studied, as well as connections with Aharonov and Bohm's arguments with respect to time-energy uncertaintly principle.
