`Alī b.\ Abī l-Rijāl (Abenragel, fl.\ first half of the 11th century) is the best-known astrologer of the Western Islamic world. He is particularly famous for his \textit{Kitāb al-bāri` fī\ aḥkām al-nujūm} (\textit{The outstanding book on astrology}), which was translated into Latin under the title \textit{De iudiciis astrorum}, as well as into various other European languages. However, Abenragel also wrote an astrological poem (\textit{urjūza}), which broadly covers the same topics as the \textit{Outstanding book} but in less detail. The book under review provides a critical edition, Spanish translation and study of the commentary on the \textit{urjūza} by the Merinid court astrologer Ibn Qundfudh al-Qusanṭīnī (1339--1407). Besides, with divinatory aspects, the commentary also deals with a range of concepts of mathematical astrology, especially the calculations of planetary positions for the twelve horoscopes included in the text and for Saturn-Jupiter conjunctions, the determination of the ascendant and the twelve astrological houses, prorogations (\textit{tasyīr}), revolutions of world-year, and astrological lots. The book includes an extensive summary in English. (See also the article on Ibn Qunfudh's commentary by \textit{J. Samsó} in [Al-Qantara Rev. Estud. Árab. 30, 7--39, 321--360 (2009)].)
