A new proof of a theorem of Hamidoune avoiding Cayley graphs (Q2869142)

The author provides a non-graph theoretic proof of an addition theorem of \textit{Y. O. Hamidoune} [Eur. J. Comb. 13, No. 4, 249--255 (1992; Zbl 0768.05051)]. Hamidoune's theorem is a generalization of a theorem of \textit{L. I. Shatrovskiĭ} [C. R. (Dokl.) Acad. Sci. URSS, n. Ser. 45, 315--317 (1944; Zbl 0063.06948)] which itself is a generalization of the famous theorem of Cauchy-Davenport (see \textit{H. Davenport} [J. Lond. Math. Soc. 10, 30--32 (1935; Zbl 0010.38905)]).
