An extremal elliptic surface is a Jacobian elliptic surfaces with maximal Picard number, i.e., the rank of \(NS(X)\) equals \(h^{1,1}(X)\), and such that the Mordell-Weil group is finite.NEWLINENEWLINEIn this paper an algorithm is presented to calculate the transcendental lattice of extremal elliptic surfaces with non-constant \(j\)-invariant having no singular fiber of type \(E_6, E_7\) or \(E_8\). Furthermore, the author applies this algorithm to four series of examples of extremal elliptic surfaces.
