The authors prove that every cohomogeneity-two polar action of type \(C_3\) on a positively curved simply connected manifold is equivariantly diffeomeorphic to a polar action on a rank-one symmetric space (this includes two exceptional actions on the projective Cayley plane). For all other types, the corresponding result is proved by the same authors in [``Tits geometry and positive curvature'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1205.6222}].NEWLINENEWLINEThe proof uses an axiomatic characterization of buildings of type \(C_3\) due to \textit{J. Tits} [in: The geometric vein, The Coxeter Festschr., 519--547 (1982; Zbl 0496.51001)]. The authors mention that another proof follows from \textit{L. Kramer} and \textit{A. Lytchak} [Transform. Groups 19, No. 3, 793--852 (2014; Zbl 1309.51003)].
