The authors study the local energy decay of the solutions to the wave equation over a unbounded network with Dirichlet and Kirchhoff conditions. They prove that the energy is exponentially decaying and an exact formula for exponential decay rate is given. The approach adopted relies on \(\tau\)-type operators and spectral analysis of the associated linear operator leading to the correspondence between the resonances width and the local energy decay rate.
