This is a very innovative approach concerning the combination of two theorems: the first given by \textit{A. O. Gelfond} [Acta Arith. 13, 259--265 (1968; Zbl 0155.09003)] and the second by \textit{P. Erdős} et al. [J. Number Theory 70, No. 2, 99--120 (1998; Zbl 0923.11024)]. The first concerns the distribution in residue classes of the sum of digits function in the case of integers with missing digits. The second deals with the uniform distribution of integers with missing digits included in arithmetic progressions, but having a constraint on the sum of the digits. The author combines the two theorems, arriving at a generalized result of the one of Erdős, Mauduit and Sárközy, giving an additional condition on the sum of the digits.
