The author studies the system of boundary value problems on the real line: \[ (\rho(t)x'(t)+f(t,x(t),y(t), x'(t),y'(t)) =0 \text{ for } \mathrm{a. e.} \, t \in \mathbb{R}, \] \[ (\varrho(t)y'(t)+g(t,x(t),y(t), x'(t),y'(t)) =0 \text{ for } \mathrm{a. e.} \, t \in \mathbb{R}, \] \[ \lim_{t \to -\infty} x(t) -ax(\xi) =0, \quad \lim_{t \to \infty} x(t) - bx(\eta) =0, \] \[ \lim_{t \to -\infty} y(t) -cy(\xi) =0, \quad \lim_{t \to \infty} x(t) - dy(\eta) =0, \] where \(\xi,\eta \in \mathbb{R}\), \(a,b,c,d \geq 0\), \(f, g\) are nonnegative-valued Carathéodory functions on \(\mathbb{R} \times \mathbb{R}^4\) with \(f(t,0,u, 0,v) \neq 0\) and \(g(t,u,0,v,0) \neq 0\) for all \(u,v \in \mathbb{R}\) and each interval \((-\infty, t_0]\) or \(t \in [t_0,\infty)\). It is assumed also that \(\rho(t), \varrho(t) >0\) and \(\int_{-\infty}^{\infty} \frac{du}{\rho(u)}, \int_{-\infty}^{\infty} \frac{du}{\varrho(u)} < \infty\). The author obtains a positive solution using Schauder's theorem under the following conditions (and their analogues involving \(\varrho,c,d\)): \[ \int_{\eta}^{\infty} \frac{du}{\rho(u)} +(1-b) \int_{-\infty}^{\eta} \frac{du}{\rho(u)} \geq 0, \quad (1-a)\int_{-\infty}^{\infty} \frac{du}{\rho(u)} + a \int_{-\infty}^{\xi} \frac{du}{\rho(u)} \geq 0, \] and \[ (1-a)\int_{-\infty}^{\infty} \frac{du}{\rho(u)} -(1-a)b \int_{-\infty}^{\eta} \frac{du}{\rho(u)} + a(1-b) \int_{-\infty}^{\xi} \frac{du}{\rho(u)} >0. \]
