This textbook on classical mechanics is intended for physics students, who encounter the subject as a part of their undergraduate curriculum in theoretical physics. However, it could be used in Mechanics courses for Engineering students as well. It contains 10 chapters in the following order: 1. Mathematical Tools, 2. Laws of Mechanics, 3. Least action Principle for One Coordinate, 4. Principle of least action, 5. Integrating the Equations of motion, 6. Small Oscillations, 7. Rigid Body Motion, 8. Canonical Equations, 9. Many-Particle Mechanics, 10. Basic Equations of the Theory of Elasticity. The book is well written and contains carefully chosen examples. The Chapter 10 is an important addition to the standard texts on Classical Mechanics. It is well and concisely written and introduces the reader to the area of mechanics of deformable body. In conclusion, I stress that the book is a welcome addition to the textbooks on Classical Mechanics and I strongly recommend it for Physics and Engineering students.
