Let \(\mathcal S\) be the Hilbert space obtained from the manifold of smooth complex valued functions \(f\) on the unit disc \(\mathbb D\) by taking the completion with respect to the norm \[ ||f||=\left(\left|\int_{\mathbb D}f\,dA\right|^2+\int_{\mathbb D}\left(\left|\frac{\partial f}{\partial z}\right|^2+\left|\frac{\partial f}{\partial \overline{z}}\right|^2\right)\,dA\right)^{1/2}, \] where \(dA\) is the (normalized) area measure on \(\mathbb D\). The Dirichlet space \({\mathcal D}\) consists of all analytic on \(\mathbb D\) functions \(f\in\mathcal S\) with \(f(0)=0\), while a measure \(\mu\) on \(\mathbb D\) is a \({\mathcal D}\)-Carleson measure if \[ \int_{\mathbb D}|f|^2\,d\mu\leq C||f||^2, \quad f\in {\mathcal D} \] for some constant \(C\). Further, the harmonic Dirichlet space \({\mathcal D}_h\) is the orthogonal sum \({\mathcal D}\oplus{\mathbb C}\oplus\overline{\mathcal D}\), where \(\overline{\mathcal D}=\{\overline{f}: f\in\mathcal D\}\), and \(Q\) is the orthogonal projection from \(\mathcal S\) onto \({\mathcal D}_h\). For \[ u\in {\mathcal M}=\{ f+\overline{g}: f,g\in H^\infty({\mathbb D}), \;|f'|^2\,dA,|g'|^2\,dA\text{ are } {\mathcal D}\text{-Carleson measures}\}, \] Toeplitz operators \(T_u\) are defined on \({\mathcal D}_h\) as \(T_u\phi = Qu\phi\). The main result of the paper under review is that, for \(u,v\in\mathcal M\), we have that \(T_uT_v=T_\tau\) for some \(\tau\in\mathcal M\) if and only if either \(u\) or \(v\) is constant.
