In the paper under review, the authors study Non-commutative Geometry of the Moyal plane. They first compute Connes' spectral distance associated to the natural isometric action of the group \(\mathbb{R}^{2}\) on the algebra \(\mathcal{A}\) of the Moyal plane. In particular, they show that the spectral distance between any state \(\phi\) of the two-dimensional Moyal algebra \(\mathcal{A}\) and any of its translated states \(\phi_{\kappa}, \kappa \in \mathbb{R}^{2}\) is indeed the geodesic length of the translation. They also extend this result to the action of the sympletic group and provide an upper bound on the spectral distance on any sympletic orbit. They further compute the spectral distance in the double Moyal plane. They establish a Pythagoras equality and some Pythagoras inequalities. The main results of this paper demonstrate that the spectral distance in the double Moyal space coincides with the quantum length in the DFR (Doplicher-Fredenhagen-Roberts) model.
