Given a genus \(g\) Heegaard splitting of a closed orientable 3-manifold \(M\), the \textit{Goeritz group} \(G_g\) is the group of isotopy classes of orientation-preserving homeomorphisms of \(M\) that preserve the splitting. The present paper takes into account the particular case of the genus two Goeritz group of \(L(p,1)\), which is unique by the uniqueness of the Heegard splitting of lens spaces, for any fixed genus (see [\textit{F. Waldhausen}, Topology 7, 195--203 (1968; Zbl 0157.54501)], [\textit{F. Bonahon}, Topology 22, 305--314 (1983; Zbl 0526.57009)], [\textit{F. Bonahon} and \textit{J.-P. Otal}, Ann. Sci. Éc. Norm. Supér. (4) 16, 451--466 (1983; Zbl 0545.57002)]). By means of a generalization of the method developed in his previous paper [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 136, No. 3, 1113--1123 (2008; Zbl 1149.57025)], the author proves that the Goeritz group \(G_2\) of each lens space \(L(p,1)\) is finitely presented; in particular, an explicit presentation is given both in the cases \(p=2\) and \(p=3\) and in the general case \(p \geq 4\). This result extends the analogous ones related to the 3-sphere \(S^3\): see [\textit{L. Goeritz}, Abh. Math. Semin. Univ. Hamb. 9, 244--259 (1933; Zbl 0007.08102)], [\textit{M. Scharlemann}, Bol. Soc. Mat. Mex., III. Ser. 10, 503--514 (2004; Zbl 1095.57017)] and [\textit{E. Akbas}, Pac. J. Math. 236, No. 2, 201--222 (2008; Zbl 1157.57002)], together with the quoted paper by the author. Note that higher genus Goeritz groups \(G_g\) of \(L(p,1)\) and \(S^3\), \(\forall g \geq 3\), as well as genus two Goeritz groups \(G_2\) of other lens spaces, are conjectured to be finitely presented, too, but the problem is still open.
