Let \(\mathbb{B}_n\) denote the open unit ball in \(\mathbb{C}^n\) and \(dV\) the normalized Lebesgue measure on \(\mathbb{B}_n\). The Bergman space \(A^2(\mathbb{B}_n)\) consists of functions holomorphic on \(\mathbb{B}_n\) that are square-integrable with respect to \(dV\). Let \(K_{\mathbb{B}_n}(z,w)\) be the Bergman kernel on \(\mathbb{B}_n\). Let \(d\eta(z) = K_{\mathbb{B}_n}(z, z)\, dV(z)\) denote the invariant measure. For any \(f \in L^1(\mathbb{B}_n, dV)\), the Berezin transform of \(f\) is the function \[ Bf(w) = \int_D f(z) \frac{|K_{\mathbb{B}_n}(z, w)|^2}{K_{\mathbb{B}_n}(w,w)} dV(z). \] Among other results, the authors prove several properties of the Berezin transform on \(L^p(\mathbb{B}_n, d\eta)\). These results are analogous to the properties of \(B\) on the open unit disk in the plane equipped with the invariant measure, which were proved by \textit{M. Engliš} in his Ph.D.\ thesis [Toeplitz operators on Bergman-type spaces. Prague: Czechoslovak Academy of Science (PhD Thesis) (1991)]. For example, \(B\) is a contractive linear operator on all of \(L^p(\mathbb{B}_n, d\eta)\), for \(1 \leq p \leq \infty\). Also for \(B\) defined on \(L^2(\mathbb{B}_n, d\eta)\), \(B^n \rightarrow 0\) in norm topology as \(n \rightarrow \infty\) and \(B\) is similar to a part of the adjoint of the unilateral shift.
