The authors study (arising in difference equations, boundary value problems and dynamic networks) the nonlinear algebraic systems \[ x=\lambda AF(x), \;x\in \mathbb{R}^n, \;F(x)=(f(x_1),f(x_2),\dots,f(x_n))^T , \tag{1} \] where \(\lambda >0\), \(A\) is a positive square matrix, \(f\) is a nondecreasing function defined on \([0, \infty)\) satisfying \(f(u)>0\) for \(u>0\). The introduction of two magnitudes \(f_0=\lim_{u\to 0}\frac{f(u)}{u}\) and \(f_{\infty}=\lim_{u\to \infty}\frac{f(u)}{u}\) allows to categorize the system (1) into six subclasses, for each of which \(\mathbb{R}_+=(0, \infty)\) is divided into \(\lambda\)-intervals correspondingly to \(\lambda\)-values such that the system (1) has no positive solution, at least one positive solution, or at least two solutions. Spectral and resolvent sets for (1) are determined.
