The authors study the transonic shock solutions for the Dirichlet boundary-value problem for one-dimensional steady Euler-Poisson system. This systems describes semiconductors or plasma: Coulomb force is explicitly described. The flow is transonic. The main result states that the problem can have no, a unique, and multiple transonic shock solutions, depending on the data of the problem. Structure of solutions is described. Attention is paid to influence of the electric field on the dynamics.
