      The paper is concerned with the study of Newton's iteration \(x_{n+1}=x_n-F^{\prime}(x_n)^{-1} F(x_n)\) for approximating a locally unique solution \(x^*\) of the equation \(F(x)=0\), where \(F:X \to Y\) is a Fréchet continuously differentiable operator between Banach spaces \(X\) and \(Y\). The authors expand the applicability of Newton's method under the \(\gamma\)-condition \(\| F^{\prime}(x_0)^{-1} F^{\prime\prime}(x)\|\leq 2\gamma(1-\gamma \| x-x_0\|^3)^{-1}\), \(\| x-x_0\| \leq r\) used in previous work by replacing this condition with the center \(\gamma\)-condition \(\| F^{\prime}(x^*)^{-1} F^{\prime\prime}(x)\|\leq 2\gamma(1-\gamma \| x-x^*\|^3)^{-1}\), \(\| x-x^*\| \leq r\). Numerical results are provided.
