In the paper under review the automorphisms of the quantum polynomial algebra \(H:=k_q[x,x^{-1},y]\) are studied. The algebra automorphisms of this Hopf algebra were studied by \textit{V. A. Artamonov}, [Ann. Univ. Ferrara, Nuova Ser., Sez. VII 51, 29-60 (2005; Zbl 1184.16036)], \textit{E. Kirkman} et al., [Commun. Algebra 22, No. 10, 3755-3774 (1994; Zbl 0813.17009)] and in the present paper the coalgebra automorphisms are considered. It is assumed that \(q\in k\) is not a root of unity. It is proved that the group of coalgebra automorphisms \(\Aut_c(H)\) is a semidirect product of the group \(\Aut_0(H)\) of automorphisms \(\varphi\) that satisfy \(\varphi(1)=1\) and some subgroup \(\Theta\) isomorphic to \(\mathbb Z\). An analog of this statement for graded automorphisms is proved. Further some chain of subgroups of \(\Aut_0(H)\) is described. It leads to a presentation of the group \(\Aut_c(H)\) as a semidirect product \(G_\infty\rtimes((k^*)^{\mathbb Z}\rtimes\mathbb Z)\) where the group \(G_\infty\) is explicitly described. Finally the structure of the group \(\Aut_a(H)\) of algebra automorphisms is also described as a semidirect product \((k^*)^2\rtimes\mathbb Z\).
