Let \(X \subset \mathbb{P}_{\mathbb{Q}}^n\) be a projective variety defined over \(\mathbb{Q}\). For any rational point \(P=[a_0,a_1,\ldots,a_n]\) of \(X\), the \textit{height} of \(P\), \(H(P)\) is defined to be the maximum of \(|a_0|, |a_1|, \ldots , |a_n|\). Then for any open subset \(U\) of \(X\) and any \(B \in \mathbb{R}\), one defines the counting function \(N_U(B)=\#\{P\in U(\mathbb{Q}) \; | H(P) \leq B \}\). Manin has posed a conjecture regarding the asymptotic behaviour of \(N_U(B)\) as \(B\) tends to infinity in the case when \(X\) is a Fano variety [\textit{J. Franke} et al., Invent. Math. 95, No. 2, 421--435 (1989; Zbl 0674.14012)]. This conjecture has been verified in various cases. One of theses is when \(X\) is an equivariant compactification of \(\mathbb{G}_a^n\) [\textit{A. Chambert-Loir} and \textit{Y. Tschinkel}, Invent. Math. 148, No. 2, 421--452 (2002; Zbl 1067.11036)]. In this paper the authors classify all Del Pezzo and generalized Del Pezzo surfaces, which are equivariant compactification of \(\mathbb{G}_a^2\) and thus verify Manin's conjecture in these cases.
