[For the entire collection see Zbl 0688.00018.] The author discusses the problem of estimating values of the ambiguity function \[ A_{f,g}(\tau,\nu )=f(t)g(t-\tau)e^{i\nu t}dt,\quad f,g\in L^ 2(\mathbb{R}), \] on some window \(0\leq \tau\leq R\) and \(-D\leq \nu\leq D\) which is much smaller than the support of \(A_{f,g}\). Computational aspects related to periodizing, convolution and Fast Fourier Transform and concerning precomputing and minimizing FFT errors are presented.
