Christoffel functions on convex and starlike domains in \(\mathbb R^d\) (Q401397)

The study of the asymptotics of multivariate Christoffel functions poses a rather complex problem which has been solved only for some model cases: cube, unit ball, simplex. The author studies the Christoffel functions on general starlike and convex domains. In such generality the author cannot get precise asymptotics for Christoffel functions, but he obtains sharp pointwise upper bounds. The bounds depend on the geometry of the domain and reveal the behavior of Christoffel functions near the boundary of the domain.
