The \textit{log canonical threshold} of a pair \((X,D)\) is the maximum of \(\lambda\) such that \((X,\lambda D)\) is log canonical. The \textit{global log canonical threshold} of a normal and \(\mathbb{Q}\)-factorial variety \(X\) is the supremum of \(\lambda\) such that \((X, \lambda D)\) is log canonical for all effective \(\mathbb{Q}\)-divisors \(D \sim_{\mathbb{Q}} -K_X\). The author of the paper under review computes global log canonical thresholds of all the nonsingular del Pezzo surfaces defined over an algebraically closed field (of arbitrary characteristic). As a corollary, the author shows that, for a nonsingular del Pezzo surface \(S\) over an algebraically closed field, \(S\) is \(K\)-semistable if \(K_S^2 \leq 4\), and \(S\) is \(K\)-stable if \(K_S^2 \leq 2\) or \(K_S^2 = 3\) and \(S\) has no Eckardt points. The above results are previously proved for nonsingular complex del Pezzo surfaces by \textit{I. Cheltsov} [Geom. Funct. Anal. 18, No. 4, 1118--1144 (2008; Zbl 1161.14030)]. The proof used in the above mentioned paper does not work in positive characteristics because it relies on connectedness theorem of Kollär and Shokurov and some other results based on vanishing theorems of Kodaira type. In the paper under review, the author completes the proof by classifying curves of low degree on del Pezzo surfaces and by constructing suitable \(\mathbb{Q}\)-divisors in the anti-canonical linear system.
