Let \(X\) be a variety with at worst log canonical singularities and \(D\) an effective \(\mathbb{Q}\)-divisor on it. The log canonical threshold \(\mathrm{lct}(X,D)\) of the pair \((X,D)\) is defined to be the supremum of all \(t\in \mathbb{Q}\) such that \((X,tD)\) is log canonical. If \(X\) is a Fano variety then the infimum of the log canonical thresholds \(\mathrm{lct}(X,D)\), where \(D \sim_{\mathbb{Q}} -K_X\) is called the global log canonical threshold of \(X\) and is denoted by \(\mathrm{lct}(X)\). In this case, \(X\) is called exceptional (resp. weakly exceptional, strongly exceptional) if for any effective \(\mathbb{Q}\)-divisor \(D \sim_{\mathbb{Q}} -K_X\), the pair \((X,D)\) is log terminal (resp. \(\mathrm{lct}(X) \geq 1\), \(\mathrm{lct}(X) >1\)). The numerical behaviour of log canonical thresholds has very important applications in birational geometry. In particular it is related to termination of flips, to rationality questions and the existence of Kähler Einstein metrics on Fano varieties. In fact, it is known that a Fano variety with at worst quotient singularities admits a Kähler Einstein metric if \(\mathrm{lct}(X) >\dim(X)/ (\dim X +1)\), and in particular when it is exceptional. The problem of existence of Kähler Einstein metrics on smooth Del Pezzo surfaces was completely solved by \textit{G. Tian} [Invent. Math. 101, 101--172 (1990; Zbl 0716.32019)]. In this paper the authors calculate the global log canonical threshold for certain quasi-smooth Del Pezzo weighted hypersurfaces, classify the exceptional ones and show that they admit Kähler Einstein metrics.
