One of the classic topics in cotilting theory is the study of the dualities induced by the contravariant functors \(\Hom_{R}(-,U)\), \(\Hom_{S}(-,U)\), \(\mathrm{Ext}^{1}_{R}(-,U)\) and \(\mathrm{Ext}^{1}_{S}(-,U)\) where \(\;_{R}U_{S}\) is a \(1\)-cotilting bimodule, and \(R\), \(S\) are two arbitrary associative rings with unit. For example, an interesting result in this theory was obtained by \textit{R. Colpi} [Lect. Notes Pure Appl. Math. 210, 81--93 (2000; Zbl 0976.16009)]. If \(\;_{R}U_{S}\) is a faithfully balanced 1-cotilting bimodule, he proved that the bimodule \(U\) induces a torsion theory in the category of left \(R\)-modules as well as in the category of right \(S\)-modules, such that the functors \(\Hom(-,U)\) and \(\mathrm{Ext}(-,U)\) induces dualities between the torsion-free classes and the torsion classes. In [Forum Math. 22, No. 6, 1161--1191 (2010; Zbl 1206.18013)], the authors extended the study of the dualities generated by a cotilting bimodule \(\;_{R}U_{S}\) to the setting of the derived categories of modules over and associative ring. Working with the derived functors \({\mathbf R}\Hom(-,\;_{R}U)\) and \({\mathbf R}\Hom(-,\;U_{S})\), they proved that the complexes in the domain and in the range of the duality induced by \({\mathbf R}\Hom(-,\;_{R}U)\) and \({\mathbf R}\Hom(-,\;U_{S})\), i.e., the \({\mathcal D}\)-reflexive complexes, admit the following characterisation: A complex is \({\mathcal D}\)-reflexive if and only if its cohomologies are \({\mathcal D}\)-reflexive. As a consequence, the characterisation of \({\mathcal D}\)-reflexive complexes is completely determined by the characterisation of \({\mathcal D}\)-reflexive modules as complexes concentrated in degree \(0\). The main motivation of this paper is to obtain a new characterisation of \({\mathcal D}\)-reflexive complexes in terms of a suitable notions of linear compactness, density and orthogonality. In particular, in Theorem 5.4 the authors proved that, if \(\;_{R}U_{S}\) is a faithfully balanced 1-cotilting bimodule, a module is \({\mathcal D}\)-reflexive if and only if it is \(U\)-linearly compact, \(\Delta\)-dense and \(3\)-orthogonal. Then, see Corollary 5.5, the total derived functors \({\mathbf R}\Hom_{R}(-,U)\) and \({\mathbf R}\Hom_{S}(-,\;U)\) induces a duality between the categories of complexes of left \(R\)-modules and right \(S\)-modules with cohomologies in the categories of \(U\)-linearly compact, \(\Delta\)-dense and \(3\)-orthogonal left \(R\)-(resp. right \(S\)-) modules. These results are a generalisation, to the coilting dualities between derived categories, of the one proved by \textit{B. J. Müller} [J. Algebra 16, 60--66 (1970; Zbl 0206.04803)] that characterize Morita reflexive modules in terms of linearly compact modules.
