The book contains formulations, illustrations and discussions of dynamical and advanced mechanical problems. It is addressed to graduate and postgraduate students, and to researchers from mechanical and civil engineering and mechatronics. The book, written in a reader-friendly manner, contains 11 chapters: 1. Particle dynamics, material system dynamics and rigid-body motion about a point; 2. Mathematical and physical pendulum; 3. Statics and dynamics in generalized coordinates; 4. Classical equations of dynamics; 5. Theory of impact; 6. Vibration of mechanical systems; 7. Elements of dynamics of planets; 8. Dynamics of systems of variable mass; 9. Body and multibody dynamics; 10. Stationary motions of a rigid body and their stability; 11. Geometric dynamics. Illustrations are in several colors, and are very informative. The book contains new references, except in Chapter 5 on impact theory, where the reference list does not contain works published in last decades. Also, a few imprecisions are present, which are probably due to the translation. I believe that the book by Awrejcewicz is a valuable addition to the literature on the subject, and I highly recommend it for the courses on advanced dynamics for engineering students.
